Dissolve a collaboration

To dissolve a collaboration, one of the collaboration leads initiates this process. This changes the status of the collaboration from Active to Dissolving. eArray notifies any other leads, and each of them must also choose to dissolve the collaboration. When all of the leads have consented, eArray makes the particular collaboration workspace unavailable, and changes its status to Inactive. Only leads participate in this process.

  1. Click the Collaboration tab. If you are in a collaboration workspace, click Collaborations List to leave it.

The collaboration main page appears. If the collaboration you want to dissolve does not appear in the Ongoing Collaborations pane, you may need to click View All to display the full list of your collaborations.

  2. In the Actions column of the Ongoing Collaborations pane, next to the desired collaboration, click Dissolve.

    A dialog box appears.

  3. Caution: Once a collaboration is dissolved, eArray permanently assigns it a status of Inactive. To restore a dissolved collaboration, you must create a completely new collaboration.

  1. Click OK.

A list of the collaboration leads appears in a new window. If the collaboration contains unsubmitted designs, a warning message appears. To stop dissolving the collaboration, click Close. You can then download or move the designs/sets.

  2. To indicate whether or not you want to dissolve the collaboration, select Yes or No in the Decision column.

  3. In the Reason column, type an optional reason for your decision.

  4. Click Done.

If you are the first lead who has chosen to dissolve the collaboration, eArray notifies any other leads by e-mail, and changes the status of the collaboration from Active to Dissolving.

When all leads in the collaboration have chosen to dissolve it, eArray makes the specific collaboration workspace unavailable, and changes the status of the collaboration to Inactive. Ownership of the collaboration's data is transferred to the collaboration lead. If there is more than one lead, each lead receives a copy of the content (microarray designs, probe and bait groups, and libraries) of the collaboration space.

    A completion message appears.

  5. Click Close.
