Convert microarray design/set format

A microarray design format defines the number, size, and location of features on a microarray slide. If you create a microarray design or set with one design format, and later decide another available one would be better, you can convert the format of the design/set.

eArray provides several different methods to convert design/set formats, each suited for different situations.

Convert designs/sets with obsolete formats

When Agilent changes the available slide layout formats, some older formats can become disabled. If this happens, your microarray designs and sets that use the disabled slide layout formats become obsolete. To convert a design/set that uses an obsolete design format to an active format, see Convert obsolete microarray designs/sets. You can convert obsolete design formats for designs/sets with any status.

Convert designs/sets with Draft or Review status

If you have a microarray design or set that uses a format that is not obsolete, and it has a status of Draft or Review, you can convert its design format to another one. To do so, edit the design/set, or Review it.

Convert designs with Complete or Submitted status

You cannot directly change the design format of a microarray design with a status of Complete or Submitted, but you can achieve the equivalent. First, create a copy of the design that you want to change. Then, edit the duplicate design to use the desired format. For details, see Use an existing design to create a new one.
