Convert obsolete microarray designs/sets

When Agilent changes the available slide layout formats, some older formats may become disabled. If this happens, your microarray designs and sets that use the disabled slide layout formats become obsolete. If you are the owner of a design/set, you can convert it to use an available format. It can have a status of Draft, Review, Complete, or Submitted. The procedure below describes how to find microarray designs with obsolete formats, and convert them to active formats.

  1. Search or browse microarray designs/sets. Select Obsolete as the Design Status search criterion.

The search results pane lists the designs and sets that use obsolete formats. If you own the design, a Convert link appears in the Actions column.

  2. In the Actions column, next to the obsolete design/set you want to convert, click Convert.

    A dialog box appears.

  3. Click OK.

The Convert Microarray Design page appears.

  4. In Design Format, select one of the available formats.

  5. Click Save.

    A dialog box appears.

  6. Click OK.

eArray saves your converted design/set with a status of Draft.

eArray overwrites your original design with the converted one, except for designs with Review status. For these, eArray creates a new version of the design, and leaves the original one alone. The content appears in the new format with randomized probe layout.

  7. Note: You can also convert design formats when you edit a microarray design or set. As with any design or set, you can only edit it if it has a status of Draft or Review .
