Create new probe group using a High Density (HD) search

You can use the results of a High Density (HD) search to create a new probe group. eArray lets you create a single HD probe group from the results. You can use the resulting probe group in a microarray design or set, and download it, but note these important limitations:

To create an HD probe group

  1. Perform a High Density (HD) search.

Your HD search appears in the list of submitted HD searches, with its status listed in the Status column. eArray does not update the page automatically. Click Refresh to see the latest updates to the information.

When the desired search has a status of Complete, the View command appears in the Actions column.

  2. In the Actions column, next to the desired HD search, click View.

The HD Search Results page appears, displaying the Summary Results.

  3. Click Create Probe Group.

The Create a Probe Group page appears.

  1. Set the following probe group parameters. All parameters are required unless otherwise indicated. The parameters that do not appear in the table below are set by the system, and are read-only.

Parameter

Instructions/Details

Probe Group Name

Type a name for the probe group. eArray uses this name to reference the probe group in search results, probe group lists, view pages, and the like.

Status

Select either Incomplete or Locked. By default, eArray creates your new probe group with a status of Incomplete. If you set the status to Locked, you will not be able to edit probe group.

Description

(Optional) Type a brief description.

Keywords

(Optional) Type a keyword, or multiple keywords separated by pipe "|" characters, commas, or semicolons. eArray uses the keywords for search and browse functions.

Folder

Select a folder. eArray will save the new probe group to this location. Only the folders to which you have access appear in the list.

  1. Click Create Probe Group.

A message informs you that your probe group creation job has been submitted, and that you will receive an e-mail when the job is complete.

  2. Click OK.

eArray creates your probe group, and saves it in the selected folder. When the process is complete, eArray sends you an e-mail, and you can then search or browse for the probe group, and use it in a microarray design.
