Examples of Search Your Probes

This topic gives two examples of how to use Search Your Probes. For a general discussion of this method, see What is Search Your Probes.
 

Example 1

This example shows how to use Search Your Probes (Simple Search) to search for all human Expression type Agilent Catalog Probes that contain the term acetylcholine in their annotation.

  1. Click the Workspace tab.

  2. Set the application type to Expression.

  3. Click the Probe tab.

    The Search page appears. Search Your Probes is selected by default.

  4. Set the search parameters as described below:

  1. Select All.

  2. In Search Term(s), type acetylcholine in the empty box.

Folder

Select Agilent Catalog, and mark Include subfolders.

Species

Select H. sapiens.

Used in Probe Groups

Leave blank.

Used in Array Designs

Leave blank.

Probe Category

Select Expression.

  1. Click Search.

    eArray searches all data categories for human probes in the AgilentCatalog folder, looks for the string acetylcholine, and returns all probes that match.

 

 

Example 2

In this example, you specify cytobands to retrieve probes. You search for Agilent catalog probes associated with the human MAPK7 gene, that are located within the p11.2 and q11.2 cytobands of chromosome 17.

  1. Click the Workspace tab.

  2. Set the application type to Expression.

  3. Click Probe.

    The Search page appears. Search Your Probes is selected by default.

  4. Set the search parameters as described below.

  1. Click Search.

    eArray begins your requested search. The search may take some time.

    The Search Results pane appears with the probes that satisfy the search criteria.
