Genomic interval formats |
You can specify genomic intervals for a given species as either chromosomal location ranges, or as cytoband designations. When you specify genomic intervals in eArray, you can either type genomic intervals or cytoband designations, or upload a file that contains this information.
eArray supports the following formats:
Chromosomal locations can be specified in several ways:
chr<chromosome
number>:<start location>-<end location>
Example: chr4:123-1000 specifies chromosome 4, base pairs 123 to
1000.
chr<chromosome
number>:<start location>
Example: chr4:123 specifies chromosome 4, base pair 123 to the
end of that chromosome.
chr<chromosome
number>
Example: chr4 specifies all of chromosome 4.
Cytobands can be specified in several ways:
<Chromosome
number>p or q arm<band>.<micro band>
Example: 1p12.123
<Chromosome
number>p or q arm<band>
Example: 1p1
<Chromosome
number>p or q arm<band> - <Chromosome number>p
or q arm<band>
Example: 1p1-1p2 specifies a gene interval range from 1p1 to 1p2
Multiple chromosomal locations or cytobands
If you type multiple genomic intervals in eArray, separate the intervals with pipe "|" characters.
If you upload a file of genomic intervals, follow each genomic interval with a new line character. That is, a new line character is the separator between genomic intervals. eArray converts the values to pipe "|" separated format after it uploads the file.
