Lock/Complete a microarray or library in a collaboration

Once collaboration members have made any desired review changes to a library or microarray design, the next step is for the collaboration lead(s) to lock it. If there is more than one lead, the status changes to Locking after the first lead approves locking, and becomes Complete after all leads have approved locking. A library or microarray design/set with a status of Complete cannot be edited.

  1. Enter the collaboration.

  2. Search or browse for the desired library or microarray design/set. The item must have a status of Review.

eArray displays a list of items.

  3. Do one of these tasks:

    • If you are the sole lead of the collaboration, or if you are the lead who is initiating the locking process, follow these steps:

      1. In the Actions column, next to the desired item, click Review.
        An edit page appears.

      2. In Status, select Locking, then click Approval for locking.

    • If you are a collaboration lead, but another lead has already initiated the locking process, follow these steps:

      1. In the Actions column next to the desired item, click Approve Locking.
        An Approve Locking  page appears.

      2. In Status, click Approval for locking.

A window opens with a list of the collaboration lead(s). The decision column contains Yes and No options to indicate whether or not each lead wants to approve the locking of the item. You can only select the options next to your own name.

  1. In the Decision column, next to your name, select Yes.

  2. In the Reason column, next to your name, type a reason for your decision. This reason will be visible to the other leads, and it is required.

  3. Click Done.

    The window closes.

  4. Click Save.

If any lead decides not approve locking, eArray ends the locking process, and restores the status to Review. Otherwise, a warning message tells you that you are about to put the item into a locking state, and asks you if you want to continue.

  5. In Please type comments here, type comments. Comments are required.

  6. Click Yes.

If you are the final lead who has approved the locking of the item, or if you are the sole lead, a dialog box appears that asks if you want to submit the design to Agilent Manufacturing.

  7. Take one of the following actions:

    • To submit the item to Agilent Manufacturing, click OK.
eArray submits the item and assigns it a status of Submitted. You can now request a quote for the item. If you are registered on the Agilent Genomics Web site, you can also order microarrays and libraries from the Agilent Online Store through eArray.

    • To complete the item without submitting it to Agilent Manufacturing, click Cancel.
eArray assigns the item a status of Complete, and lets you submit it to Agilent Manufacturing later.

A success message appears.

  1. Click Close.
