Overview of microarray content in eArray

A microarray is a glass slide that has DNA oligos (called probes) arrayed onto the surface in an organized manner. Probes are organized into sets called probe groups that make working with probes easier to manage. A microarray design consists of one or more probe groups that have been organized onto the slide in a specified layout. The design includes information on the organization and location of probes on the slide, as well as the quantity of probes, types of probes and other design details. When you want your slide to include more probes than a particular design format can accommodate, you can group your designs to create a microarray set, which accommodates your full complement of probes over multiple slides

Because of this organization of microarray content, the first step is to creating a microarray in eArray is to get the needed probe sequences into eArray. You then create your probe groups, which are used to build microarray designs and sets. Finally, you need to submit the design or set to Agilent manufacturing and place your order.
