The first step is to creating a custom microarray design or set is to get the needed probe sequences into eArray and organize those probes into probe sets. You can then use the probe groups to build microarray designs and sets. Finally, you need to submit the design or set to Agilent manufacturing and place your order.
Before you begin creating a new custom microarray, review the help topic Ways to create custom microarray designs/sets to decide which approach is right for you. Depending on your needs, you may be able to use one of eArray's Design Wizards for creating a microarray design and set.
In eArray, you do not have to decide ahead of time whether to create a design or a set—you can select the probes that you want, and try out many potential configurations. Microarray sets do have a few limitations:
One microarray design can be part of only one microarray set.
Microarray designs from a microarray set cannot be used as templates for creating new microarray designs.
You cannot use a microarray set as a template to create a new microarray set.
