Update GPL identifier

The GEO Platform (GPL) identifier is a special accession number that identifies specific microarray designs that have been deposited in the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) repository. For more information on GEO, go to www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/projects/geo. It is important to distinguish the array design (the identity, format, and layout of probes) from the actual experimental array data. The GPL identifier refers specifically to the former.

You can add or change the GPL identifier for an array design with a status of Complete or Submitted. This feature is available for all microarray application types, except microRNA.

  1. Perform a search for microarray designs.

  2. In the Actions column of the search results, next to the desired microarray, click Update GPL.

The Update GPL page appears. All design parameters appear on the page in read-only format. The only value that you can edit is the GPL identifier.

  3. In GPL Identifier, type the desired GPL accession number.

  4. Click Save.

    A success message appears.

  5. Click Close.
