Apply a probe filter |
|
When you apply a probe filter to a list of probes, the filter removes probes that do not satisfy the criteria defined in the filter. A filter removes probes from probe lists in search results; it does not delete the probes from eArray.
You can use a filtered list of probes just as you would an unfiltered list. For example, you can download it, or use it to create a new probe group. The downloaded file, or the new probe group, would contain only the probes in the filtered list.
Agilent provides standard filters, and you can also create your own custom filters, and edit or delete the custom filters. You can also define a default filter in your user preferences. You apply your default filter to a list of probes with a single click.
Note: Probe filters are not available for microRNA or SureSelect Capture Array type probes. Also, you cannot apply a custom probe filter to the results of an HD or SNP probe search.
Perform a search for probes.
In the Search Results pane, click
Filter.
A new window appears with a list of filters available to you. The available
filters are sorted by Filter Name. To reverse the order of the sort,
click the Filter Name column heading.
Important: Once you apply a filter to your list of probe search results, you cannot reverse the effects of the filter. To restore the unfiltered probe list, you must resubmit the original probe search.
In the Apply
column of the list of filters, next to the desired filter, click Apply.
eArray applies the selected filter to the list of probes. You can use
the filtered list just as you would the unfiltered list.
If desired, you can apply another filter to your filtered probe list.
If you do, eArray applies the selected filter to your original, unfiltered
probe list, and displays the results.
