Enable/Disable/Delete user

If you are a workgroup administrator, you can make an existing user account available for use (enabled), or temporarily unavailable (disabled). You can also permanently remove (delete) the account. When a workgroup administrator creates a new user account, eArray automatically enables it. However, a workgroup administrator must enable the accounts of new users who register themselves.

  1. Perform a search for the desired user. When you enable users who have registered themselves, it can be useful to set the Status search criterion to NEW.

  2. Perform the desired task, as described in the table below.

Enable Users

  1. In the Search Results pane, mark the check boxes next to the users that you want to enable.

  2. Click Enable User(s).
    A message asks you to type comments or reasons for enabling the user.

  3. Type optional comments or reasons in the box in the Comments column next to each user.

  4. Click Enable User(s).
    eArray enables the user, and displays a result page.

Disable Users

  1. In the Search Results pane, select the check boxes next to one or more users. You cannot disable your own account.

  2. Click Disable User(s).
    A message asks you to type comments or reasons for disabling the user.

  3. Type optional comments or reasons in the box in the Comments column next to each user.

  4. Click Disable User(s).
    eArray disables the user, and displays a result page.

Delete User

  1. In the Actions column of the Search Results pane, next to the desired user, click Delete. You cannot delete your own account.

    A dialog box appears.

  2. Important: Make sure there are no probe groups or microarray designs/sets associated with users before you delete their accounts.

  1. Click OK.
    A new page appears.

  2. Type optional comments in the text box in the Comments column.

  3. Click Delete User(s).
    eArray deletes the user, and displays a result page.
