Create new probe group using GE Probe Design

You can use the probes generated by GE probe design to create a probe group. The probe design job must have a status of Completed. eArray allows you to create a probe group with the following procedure once for each set of GE Probe Design results. If you need more than one copy or version of this probe group, use the Copy Probe Group function.

  1. Click the Workspace tab.

  1. Set the application type to Expression, if needed.

  1. Click Probe > GE Probe Design.

The GE Probe Design page appears. The search results pane at the bottom of the page lists your current GE Probe Design jobs.

  2. In the Actions column of the Search Results pane, next to the desired job, click Create Probe Group

A message informs you that you have submitted a probe group creation job, and that you will receive an e-mail when your probe group has been created.

  3. Click Exit.

eArray creates your probe group. The new probe group has the same name as the corresponding GE Probe Design job. When the process is complete, you receive an e-mail, and you can search or browse for your new probe group, and use it in a new microarray design.

When eArray creates a probe group from GE Probe Design results, it also commits the newly-generated probes to the eArray main database. The probes can then be searched.
