Lock library

Once collaboration members have made any desired review changes to a library, the next step is for the collaboration lead(s) to lock it. If there is more than one lead, the status changes to Locking after the first lead approves locking, and becomes Complete after all leads have approved locking. Once a library has a status of Complete, the library can be submitted to Agilent Manufacturing and cannot be further edited. For the SureSelect Target Enrichment application type, you can also use the procedure in this topic to lock a library set.

  1. Note: Locking is only available in collaborations, not in your individual user workspace.

  1. Enter the collaboration that contains the library that you want to lock.

  2. Search or browse for the desired library. The library to be locked must have a status of Review.

eArray displays a list of libraries.

  3. Perform one of these tasks:

      1. In the Actions column next to the desired library, click Approve Locking.
The Approve Locking of Microarray Design page appears.

      2. In Status, click Approval for locking.

A window opens with a list of the collaboration lead(s). The decision column contains Yes and No options to indicate whether or not each lead wants to approve the locking of the library. You can only select the options next to your own name.

  1. In the Decision column, next to your name, select Yes.

  2. In the Reason column, next to your name, type a reason for your decision. This reason will be visible to the other leads, and it is required.

  3. Click Done.

    The window closes.

  4. Click Save.

If any lead decides not approve locking, eArray ends the locking process, and restores the status to Review. Otherwise, a message tells you that you are about to save the library with a status of Locking, and asks you if you want to continue.

  5. In Please type comments here, type comments. Comments are required.

  6. Click Yes.

If you are the final lead to approve the locking of the library, or if you are the sole lead, a dialog box asks if you want to submit the library to Agilent Manufacturing. Continue with step 10.

If you are the first of multiple leads to request locking, a dialog box tells you that the library has been saved with a status of Locking, and that its status will change to Complete after all leads have approved locking.

  7. If you are the sole lead, or the final lead to approve locking, take one of the following actions:

A success message appears.

  1. Click Close.
