Search for libraries

You can search for libraries in eArray based on many criteria. eArray returns a list of libraries that match your search criteria, and you can then take action on them.

  1. Click the Workspace tab, or enter a collaboration.

  2. Set the application type to SureSelect Target Enrichment or SureSelect RNA Enrichment

  3. Click the Libraries tab.

    A search page appears.

  1. Set any of the following search criteria. You can click Reset at any time to clear all search parameters.

Criterion

Instructions/Details

Library Name

Type all or part of a name of a library.

Folder Name

By default, eArray searches for libraries in all folders accessible to you (the All option). To limit your search to a specific folder, select the desired folder from the list. The list of folders contains only the ones to which you have access. To include all of a folder's subfolders in your search, mark Include subfolders.

Species

To select one or more species as a search criterion, follow these steps:

  1. Click Select and Add.
A species selection page opens in a new window.

  2. Under Species Category List, in Name, type some or all of the desired species name, then click Search.
A search results pane appears, with species that match the name you typed. If the search results span multiple pages, you can use the Pages links to navigate through them.

  3. Click the name of the desired species to select it. You can select more than one species on a page.

  4. Click Add.
eArray transfers the species to the Selected Species list.

To transfer all of the species on all of the pages, click Add All, then in the dialog box that appears, click OK.

To start over, click Remove All. To remove species, select them in the Selected Species list, then click Remove.

  5. Click Done.
The selected species appear(s) on the search page in Species. Multiple species appear in pipe-separated format.

  6. Note: To remove species from the search criteria, click Select and Add, then use the species selection page to modify the list of species.

ELID

Type the ELID of the desired library. Separate multiple entries with pipe "|" characters. An ELID (Enrichment Library ID) is a unique Agilent identifier for a specific library. Agilent creates this ID when you save a library with a status of Complete or Submitted.

To upload a file of ELIDs, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare a plain text file that contains a list of the desired ELIDs. Separate entries with new line (return) characters.

  2. Click Upload.
    A file upload window appears.

  3. Click Browse.
A Choose file dialog box appears.

  4. Select the desired file, then click Open.

  5. In the file upload window, click Upload File.
eArray uploads the selected file. The ELIDs appear in pipe-separated format.

Design Status

Select All, Active or Obsolete.

You can search for libraries with a design status of Obsolete to update them to use current formats.

Created by

Type the name of the library owner whose libraries you want to find.

Created Date

Enter a range of dates. Click calendar_icon.gif next to From and To, and select the desired dates from the calendars that appear.

Containing Bait Group

Set this criterion to find libraries that contain specific bait group(s). To select the bait group(s) to use as search criteria, click Select and Add.

A bait group selection page appears in a new window. The procedure for selecting bait groups is the same as the one for probe groups described in Select probe groups for probe searches.

The selected bait groups appear in pipe-separated format on the search page.

Keywords

Type keywords separated by commas.

Length

(SureSelect Target Enrichment application type only) eArray supports a bait length of 120 nucleotides.

  • Note: All baits in a given library have the same length.

Library Type

Select one of these options (availability of specific types of libraries varies by application type):

  • All – Returns libraries without regard to library type.

  • Normal – Returns "standard" libraries that are not one of the specialized library types that appear in the rest of this list.

  • Base – Returns Agilent Catalog libraries that can each be used as a base library when you create a combined library.

  • Supplemental – (SureSelect Target Enrichment application type only) Returns libraries that can each be added to a base library to create a combined library.

  • Combined – Returns libraries that include a specific base library and a corresponding supplemental library. See Combine Base and Supplemental Libraries.

  • Custom Library Set – Returns only custom library sets, which eArray creates automatically when you design a library that has more baits than can be accommodated by the standard 1 X 55K library size (57,750 baits). In a library set, the requested baits are distributed evenly among multiple libraries. For more information, see Library sets.

Library Category

(Read-only, SureSelect RNA Enrichment application type only) eArray supports RNA Capture libraries, which retrieve specific RNA species from a pool of RNAs.

  1. Click Search.

A search results pane displays the libraries that match your search criteria.

To go to another page of results, click one of the  Pages links. To sort the search results based on any column (except Actions), click the desired column heading. To reverse the order of the items, click the same column heading again.

To limit the search results to libraries with a particular status, select the desired options from the Design Format and Status lists above the search results, then click Filter. To restore the full results, select Select from both lists, then click Filter again.

After eArray finishes your search, you can use the search results to take action on one or more of the retrieved libraries. See Actions you can take on libraries.

  1. Note: You can pre-set certain search parameters, and customize the column content and order of search results. See Set user preferences.
