Share microarray design/set |
|
If you want to share a microarray design or set with one or more users, the Share function can facilitate the process. After you select the desired design/set, the Share function moves it to either an existing collaboration space or a new one. If needed, eArray creates a new collaboration space. Other users then access the design/set through the collaboration. This is a good way to share your custom microarrays with others who are members of other organizations or workgroups, or who may not be current eArray users.
You must be the owner of the design/set.
The design/set must have a status of Complete or Submitted.
If you want to share an individual microarray design, it cannot be part of a microarray set.
If you want to share your design/set in a new collaboration space, you need to know the e-mail addresses of your desired collaborators.
You cannot share eArrayXD microarray designs.
Search
or browse for the
desired microarray design or set.
eArray displays a list of microarray designs or sets.
Select the desired microarray designs/sets. Use the following as a guide:
To select a design/set, mark the check box next to its name. You can select more than one design/set.
To select all designs/sets on a page of results, mark the check box in the column heading row.
To go to another page of results, use the Pages links. eArray remembers your selections as you go from one page to another.
To sort the results based on the contents of any column (except Actions), click the desired column heading. To reverse the order of the items in the list, click the column heading again.
Click
Share.
The Share Microarray Design page appears.
Select one of the following options:
Add content to an existing collaboration workspace – Moves the design/set to a collaboration folder to which you have access.
Add content to a new collaboration workspace – Creates a new collaboration workspace, and moves the design/set to the folder of the new collaboration.
In Probe Group Move Option, select one of the two options described below. eArray cannot move a microarray design/set if it contains a probe group used by another design/set. This option defines how eArray handles this situation, should it arise.
Make copy if used in other designs – eArray makes a copy of the probe group, and move this copy with your design/set.
Cancel move if used in other designs – eArray cancels the move if your design/set contains a probe group used in another design/set.

Do one of the following:
If you selected Add content to an existing collaboration space, a list of collaborations appears. Follow these steps:
In Microarray Design Collaboration List, select the destination collaboration for your microarray design/set.
Click
Next.
eArray moves the design/set to the specified collaboration.
A list of microarray designs or sets appears. The Result column
indicates the success or failure of the process for each design/set.
If a particular design/set could not be shared, the reason
appears in the Message column. Participants in the collaboration
can now access the design/set if they log in to eArray and
enter this collaboration.
Click Next.
If you selected Add content to a new collaboration space, your selected microarray designs/sets appear. The Result column indicates which designs/sets can be shared.
Click
Next.
The Create New Collaboration page appears.
In the Collaboration Details pane, type the Collaboration Name, a brief Description, and one or more meaningful Keywords for the new collaboration. All three are required. eArray uses this information to identify the collaboration, and also as the basis of collaboration searches.
In the Invitee Details pane, provide the following information, as described:

Instructions/Details |
Enter Member Invitee E-mail |
Type the e-mail addresses of the users to designate as collaboration members, separated by semicolons. To add members of your workgroup who are registered eArray users, you can select their e-mail addresses from a list:
The selected users appear in Selected Users.

Enter Share Invitee E-mail |
Type the e-mail addresses of users to designate as collaboration share users, separated by semicolons. You can also click Select and Add to select existing users in your workgroup, as described above in Enter Member Invitee E-mail. |
Note to Invitees |
(Optional, but recommended) Type text to be included as part of the e-mail sent to your invitees. Your note does not need to include instructions on how to join the collaboration, since eArray already provides this information in the e-mail. |
Click
Create.
The Terms and Conditions page appears.
Read
the Terms and Conditions, then click I
Agree. You must agree to the Terms and Conditions to
create the collaboration and share your microarray design/set.
eArray creates the collaboration, and sends invitation e-mails
to the addresses you specified. The invitations direct invitees
who are eArray registered users to the eArray login page.
It directs those who are not registered users to the eArray
registration page.
When a registered invitee logs in to eArray, the invitation
appears in the Invitations to Me pane of the collaboration
main page, where they can accept
the invitation and participate
in the collaboration.
A message informs you that your collaboration has been created
successfully, and that the array designs have been updated.
