Search for eArrayXD microarray designs

eArrayXD microarray designs are designs that you create in eArrayXD, the desktop version of eArray that is available within Agilent Genomic Workbench Standard Edition. See eArrayXD and the eArray Web site. Only designs that have a status of Submitted are available in this kind of search. As with all designs of this status, you cannot edit the designs, but you can view, download, or request a quote for them. You also cannot move, share, or copy these kinds of designs, or publish them to the eArray Public page.

  1. Click the Workspace tab. Searches for eArrayXD microarray designs are not available in a collaboration.

  2. Set the application type to CGH, ChIP, Expression, or microRNA.

  3. Note: Searches for eArrayXD SureSelect Target Enrichment libraries are discussed in a separate topic. See Search for eArrayXD libraries. Also, eArrayXD does not support the SureSelect Capture Array application type, microarray sets, or Exon microarray designs.

  1. Click the Microarray tab, then select eArrayXD Microarray Design.

The eArrayXD Microarray Design search page appears.

  2. Enter any of the following search criteria. All are optional.

Parameter

Instructions/Details

Microarray Name

Type all or part of a name of an eArrayXD microarray design.

Keywords

Type all or part of a keyword, or multiple keywords separated by commas.

Species

To select one or more species, follow these steps:

  1. Click Select and Add.
A species selection page opens in a new window.

  2. Under Species Category List, in Name, type some or all of the desired species name, then click Search. To return a list of all available species, leave Name blank.
A search results pane appears, with species that match the name you typed. If they appear, you can use the Pages links to go to a different page of results.

  3. Click the name of the desired species to select it. You can select more than one species on a page.

  4. Click Add.
eArray transfers the species to the Selected Species list.

To transfer all of the species on all of the pages, click Add All, then in the dialog box that appears, click OK.

To start over, click Remove All. To remove species, select them in the Selected Species list, then click Remove.

  5. Click Done.
The selected species appear(s) on the search page in Species. Multiple species appear in pipe-separated format.

  6. Note: When eArray searches for microarray designs based on species, it searches only the primary species associated with them. This is true even if you specify multiple species in your search criteria. Also, to retrieve designs for which no species is designated, leave the Species search criterion blank.

Design ID

Type the AMADID of the desired eArrayXD microarray design, or multiple AMADIDs separated by pipe "|" characters. To upload a file of AMADIDs, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare a plain text file that contains a list of the desired AMADIDs. Separate entries with new line (return) characters.

  2. Click Upload.
    A file upload window appears.

  3. Click Browse.
A Choose file dialog box appears.

  4. Select the desired file, then click Open.

  5. In the file upload window, click Upload File.
eArray uploads the selected file. The IDs appear in pipe-separated format in Design ID.

Created by

Type the name of the microarray design owner whose eArrayXD designs you want to find.

Date Submitted

Enter a range of dates. In From and To, click calendar_icon.gif, then select the desired dates from the calendars that appear.

Folder Name

By default, eArray searches for microarray designs in all folders accessible to you (the All option). To limit your search to a specific folder, select the desired folder from the list. The list contains only the folders to which you have access. To include all of a folder's subfolders in your search, mark Include subfolders.

Array Category

(CGH application type) Select one of these options:

  • All – Returns microarray designs without regard to array category.

  • CGH+SNP – Returns only CGH+SNP microarray designs, which combine Agilent SNP probes and standard CGH probes on the same array.

  • Standard – Returns only standard CGH microarray designs.

  1. Click Search.

A Search Results pane appears with the eArrayXD designs that match your search criteria. You can do several things with the results:
