To log in to the Agilent SureDesign program, you need to set up an account on the SureDesign website. Accounts are organized into workgroups, with one member of the workgroup serving as the administrator.
What is a SureDesign workgroup?
A workgroup consists of one or more accounts that have access to the same set of content folders. Typically, users from the same lab or department within an organization join the same workgroup so they can easily share designs. However, a workgroup can also consist of users from multiple organizations that have a need to share content, or it can contain only a single user who has no need to be part of a multi-user workgroup.
In addition to your primary workgroup, SureDesign allows you to create and join collaborations. A collaboration functions as a temporary workgroup that contains one or more content folders separate from the folders of your primary workgroup. If you are working closely on a design project with an Agilent Applications Scientist, he or she may invite you to join a SureDesign collaboration.
NOTE If your workgroup was originally created in Agilent eArray, the folder hierarchy structure and folder access privileges for your eArray workgroup were transferred to SureDesign.
What does the workgroup administrator do?
Whether a workgroup has one user or many users, one of the accounts within the workgroup must be designated as the administrator. The administrator is responsible for managing workgroup accounts, which includes:
· approving new accounts when users sign up for a SureDesign account in the administrator's workgroup
· deleting inactive accounts when users leave the organization
