Overview of the SureDesign advanced options

The advanced options provide additional flexibility for working in SureDesign, by allowing you to work with individual probegroups as well as designs.

These three kinds of content are related but have distinct roles in SureDesign:

·        Probegroups - A probegroup is a set of probes that were created as part of the same probe selection job or that were uploaded into SureDesign as part of the same file using the advanced wizard.

·        Designs - A design is a set of one or more probegroups. You can request quotes and place orders for completed designs through SureDesign.

·        Combined Design - A Combined Design is a single design set containing both a base and a spike-in design. This is available for SureSelect DNA design creation only.

·        SureSelect Cancer CGP Combined Design - A SureSelect Cancer CGP Combined Design is a single design set containing both a SureSelect Cancer CGP base and a spike-in design. This is available for SureSelect Cancer CGP design creation only.

·        OneSeq Design - A OneSeq design consists of a backbone design to detect genome-wide CNVs and LOH intervals and a user-selected SureSelect spike-in design to detect point mutations in target regions. The OneSeq design wizard that is accessible from the SureSelect Advanced Designs screen is identical the standard OneSeq design wizard.

When you use the SureDesign standard wizard to create a SureSelect or HaloPlex design, the program creates a probegroup from the probe selection job, and the resulting design is comprised of that single probegroup. Using advanced options, you can create a SureSelect design that contains more than one probegroup, or  a combined design containing both a base and a spike-in design.

In addition to creating a design, SureDesign's advanced wizards allow you to create a probe or individual SureSelect probegroup that can later be added to one or more SureSelect designs. Creating individual probegroups gives you the flexibility to create designs with various combinations of probegroups.

The advanced options allow you to view the SureSelect and HaloPlex probegroups in your workgroup and in your collaborations. See the help topics View and search for probegroups and View details of a probegroup for more information.
