Move microarray design/set

If you are a registered user, you can move a microarray design/set with any status to another folder, provided you own the design/set and have access privileges for the destination folder. However, you cannot move an individual microarray design that is part of a microarray set. You also cannot move eArrayXD microarray designs.

If your intent is to share a microarray design/set with other users in a new or existing collaboration, use the Share function, which is specifically designed to facilitate this process. It creates a new collaboration space, if needed. This is a good way to share your custom microarrays with others who are outside of your organization or workgroup, or who may not be current eArray users. See Share microarray design/set.

  1. Search or browse for the desired microarray design or set.

eArray displays a list of microarray designs or sets.

  2. Select the desired designs/sets. Use the following as a guide:

  3. Click Move.

The Move Design(s) page appears in a new window. The name of each selected design/set appears in the Microarray Name column, and its current location appears in the From Folder column.

  4. In the To Folder column, select a destination folder for each design/set. The lists contain the folders to which you have access.

  5. In Probe Group Move Option, select one of the two options described below. eArray cannot move a microarray design/set if it contains a probe group used by another design/set. This option defines how eArray handles this situation, should it arise.

  6. Click Move.

eArray moves the selected designs/sets. The Move design(s) action details list appears, with a list of the designs/sets that eArray attempted to move, and the locations involved. If the move was successful, Successful appears in the Result column. If not, Failed appears, and eArray displays the reason in the Message column.

  7. Click Close.
