GO Term

To find and select GO terms for the search,  follow these steps:

  1. Click Select and Add.
The GO Term selection page appears in a new window.

  2. In GO Term, type all or part of a GO term.

  3. In Species, select the species of interest.

  4. Click Search.
A list of matching GO terms appears in the GO Annotation Category List.

  5. Locate a desired GO term in the GO Annotation Category List, then click its name to select it. To navigate among multiple pages of terms, use the Pages links. To reverse the order of the list, click the GO Term column heading.

  6. Click Add.
eArray transfers the selected GO term(s) to the Selected GO Annotation list.

  7. Add as many GO terms as you like.

To add another term, click its name, then click Add.

To add all terms visible on a page, click Add All.

To start over, click Remove All.

To remove a specific term from the Selected GO Annotation list, select its name, then click Remove.

  1. Click Done.
The selection window closes, and the selected terms appear in pipe-separated format in GO Term. The selected terms replace any terms that may have previously appeared there.

Folder

Select a folder from the list. GO Search will retrieve probes only from the chosen folder. If you want to include the folder's subfolders in your search, mark Include subfolders.

Species

Select the desired species from the list.

Used In Probe Groups

(Optional) To select probe groups, click Select and Add. See Select probe groups for probe searches.

If you set this criterion, GO Search returns probes only from the selected probe group(s). Note that GO Search cannot search High Density (HD) probe groups.

Exact Search

(Optional) Mark this option if you want GO Search to retrieve probes with associated GO terms that exactly match the term(s) in the GO Term box. Otherwise, the search returns probes whose associated GO terms contain the search string. See What is Exact Search.

  1. Click Search.

eArray begins your requested search. The search may take some time. A message tells you that the search is in progress.

When eArray finishes the search, a Search Results pane appears with the probes that match your search criteria. You can take many actions on probes that you select from the search results:

Create a new probe group

Download probes

Delete probes

View probe sequences, statistics, annotations, and accessions

Calculate the number of microarrays needed to accommodate the probes

You can customize eArray to pre-set certain search parameters. You can also customize the content and column order of search results. See Set user preferences.
