Download library

You can download any file that is associated with a library. This includes the tab-delimited text (.tdt) file that contains bait IDs, sequences, and annotation. You can also download any files attached to the library, as well as a BED format track file that you can use to view the locations of baits with a genome browser. eArray creates the .tdt file when a library has a status of Review, and the BED file only after the library has a status of Complete or Submitted. The download command is also available when you view a library.

For the SureSelect Target Enrichment application type, you can also use the procedure in this topic to download the files that are associated with a library set.

Before you download

To download a library

  1. Search or Browse for the library you want to download. Alternatively, search for an eArrayXD library.

A list of libraries appears. If you have recently created the library, or changed its status, a message can appear that tells you that a file write is in progress. If this message appears, the library file(s) are not yet available for you to download.

  2. Next to the desired library, in the Actions column, click Download.

A new page appears with basic information about the library, and a list of files that are available for download. The following files are available. Any attached files are available, as well. For combined libraries and library sets, eArray incudes the content of all component libraries in the same TDT file.

TDT

(Available for libraries with a status of Review, Complete, or Submitted)

(Tab delimited text format) Lists all of the baits in the library. These columns can appear:

  • Bait ID – The unique name of each bait.

  • Sequence – The nucleotide sequence of each bait, in 5' to 3' orientation.

  • Replicate Count – The number of copies of the bait that appear in the library. eArray automatically replicates the complete set of baits in the library to fill as many of the available features in the library as possible.

  • Strand – The strand of DNA to which the bait is designed, which can be + (sense strand) or – (antisense strand).

BED

(Available for libraries with a status of Complete or Submitted.)

(Browser Extensible Data format) A BED format track file that you can use to view the baits in the library with a compatible genome browser. After file header information, these columns can appear:

  • Chromosome – The name of the chromosome to which the bait is designed

  • Start – The first base pair on the given chromosome to which the bait is designed

  • End – The last base pair on the given chromosome to which the bait is designed

  • Bait ID – The unique name of each bait

  • Score – A value from 0 to 1000 that controls the level of gray with which the bait is displayed in a genome browser. Higher numbers produce darker colors.

  • Strand – (When available) The strand of DNA on which to display the bait, which can be + (sense strand) or – (antisense strand).

  1. Select the files that you want to download. To select all of the files, mark the check box in the column heading row.

If an entry in the File Type column appears as a link, you can place the pointer over it to view a tool tip that contains a description of the file type.

  2. Click Download.

A dialog box asks if you want to subscribe to library update notification.

  3. Click OK to subscribe, or Cancel to decline. If you decline, you can subscribe later.

A File Download dialog box appears.

  4. Click Save.

A Save As dialog box appears.

  5. Select a location for the downloaded files, then click Save.

eArray downloads the selected file(s) in zip format to the location that you entered.
