You can search for microarray designs or sets in eArray based on many
criteria. eArray returns a list of microarray designs/sets that match
your search criteria, and you can then take action on them.
Parameter |
Instructions/Details |
Microarray Name |
(Microarray design searches only) Type all or part
of a name of a microarray design. |
Microarray Set Name |
(Microarray set searches only) Type all or part of
a name of a microarray set. |
Folder Name |
By default, eArray searches for microarray designs
or sets in all folders accessible to you (the All
option). To restrict your search to a specific folder, select the desired
folder from the list. The list of folders contains only the ones to which
you have access. To include all of a folder's subfolders in your search,
mark Include Subfolders. |
Species |
To select one or more species, follow these steps:
Click
Select and Add.
A species selection page opens in a new window.
Under
Species Category List, in Name,
type some or all of the desired species name, then click Search.
To return a list of all available species, leave Name
blank.
A search results pane appears, with species that match the name you
typed. If the search results span multiple pages, you can use the Pages links to navigate through them.
Click
the name of the desired species to select it. You can select more than
one species on a page.
Click
Add.
eArray transfers the species to the Selected Species list.
To transfer all of the species on all of the pages, click Add All,
then in the dialog box that appears, click OK.
To start over, click Remove All.
To remove species, select them in the Selected Species list, then click
Remove.
Click
Done.
The selected species appear(s) on the search page
in Species. Multiple species appear in pipe-separated format.
Note:
When eArray searches for microarray designs/sets based on species, it
searches only the primary species associated with them. This is true even
if you specify multiple species in your search criteria. Also, if you
wish to retrieve designs/sets for which no species are designated, do
not set the Species search criterion.

Design ID |
(Microarray design searches only) Type the
of the desired microarray design. To upload a file of AMADIDs,
follow these steps:
Prepare
a plain text file that contains a list of the desired AMADIDs.
Separate entries with new line (return) characters.
Click
Upload.
A file upload window appears.
Click
Browse.
A Choose file dialog box appears.
Select
the desired file, then click Open.
In the
file upload window, click Upload File.
eArray uploads the selected file.

Design Status |
Select All,
Active or Obsolete.
You can search for microarrays with
a design status of Obsolete to update those designs to use current formats.
See Convert obsolete
microarray designs/sets. |
Created by |
Type the name of the array design/set owner whose
designs/sets you want to find. |
Created Date |
Specify a range of dates. Click beside From
and To, then
select the desired dates from the calendars that appear. |
Containing Probe Group |
Set this parameter to find array designs that contain
specific probe group(s). To specify the probe group(s)
to use as search criteria, click Select
and Add.
A probe group selection page appears in a new window.
For instructions on how to use this page, refer to Select
probe groups for probe searches.
The selected probe groups appear in pipe-separated
format on the search page. |
Containing Array Design |
(Microarray Set searches only) Set this parameter
to find microarray sets that contain specific microarray design(s). To
select array design(s) to use as search criteria, follow these steps.
Click
Select and Add.
A microarray design selection page appears in a new window.
Type all
or part of the name of a microarray design, then click Search.
Select
the desired designs. To select a design, click its name. You can select
more than one design on a page.
Click
Add.
eArray transfers the selected design(s) to the Selected Array Design
list. To transfer all designs on all pages, click Add All.
To start over, click Remove All.
Continue
to add designs from as many pages as you like. To navigate among multiple
pages of designs, use the Pages
links. To reverse the order of the list, click the Microarray

Keywords |
Type all or part of a keyword, or multiple keywords
separated by commas. |
Array Category |
(Relevant only to the CGH application type) Select
the desired category:
All
– Returns microarray
designs without regard to category.
CGH+SNP
– Returns only CGH+SNP
microarray designs, which include both CGH and SNP probes on the same
array.
Standard
– Returns only standard
CGH microarray designs.
