Share library

If you want to share a library with one or more users, the Share command can facilitate the process. After you select the desired library, the Share command moves it to either an existing collaboration workspace or to a new one. If needed, eArray creates a new collaboration. Other users can then access the library through the collaboration. This is a good way to share your libraries with others who are members of other organizations or workgroups, or who may not be current eArray users. For the SureSelect Target Enrichment application type, you can also use the procedure in this topic to share library sets and combined libraries.

Before you share a library

To share a library

  1. Search or browse for the desired library.

eArray displays a list of libraries.

  2. Select the desired libraries. Use the following as a guide:

  3. Click Share.

    A new page appears.

  4. Select one of the following options:

  5. In Bait Group Move Option, select one of the two options described below. eArray cannot move a library if it contains a bait group used by another library. This option defines how eArray handles this situation, should it arise.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Do one of the following:

      1. Click Next.
The Create New Collaboration page appears.

      2. In the Collaboration Details pane, type the Collaboration Name, a brief Description, and one or more meaningful Keywords for the new collaboration. All three are required. eArray uses this information to identify the collaboration, and also as the basis of collaboration searches.

      3. In the Invitee Details pane, provide the following information, as described:

Parameter

Instructions/Details

Enter Member Invitee E-mail

Type the e-mail addresses of the users to designate as collaboration members, separated by semicolons.

To add members of your workgroup who are registered eArray users, you can select their e-mail addresses from a list:

  1. Click Select and Add.
A user selection page opens in a new window.

  2. In E-mail type all or part of the desired e-mail address, then click Search. To retrieve a list of all users in the workgroup, leave E-mail blank.

  3. Select user(s) to invite to the new collaboration. Use the following as a guide:

    • To select a user, click the name of the user, then click Add. You can select more than one user at a time.

    • To navigate among multiple pages of e-mail addresses, use the Pages links.

    • To select all users on all pages, click Add All.

    • To start over, click Remove All.

The selected users appear in Selected Users.

  1. Click Done.
eArray transfers the selected users to Enter Member Invitee E-mail.

Enter Share Invitee E-mail

Type the e-mail addresses of  users to designate as collaboration share users, separated by semicolons.

You can also click Select and Add to select existing users in your workgroup, as described above in Enter Member Invitee E-mail.

Note to Invitees

(Optional, but recommended) Type text to be included as part of the e-mail sent to your invitees. Your note does not need to include instructions on how to join the collaboration, since eArray already provides this information in the e-mail.

      1. Click Create.
The Terms and Conditions page appears.

      2. Read the Terms and Conditions, then click I Agree. You must agree to the Terms and Conditions to create the collaboration and share your library.

eArray creates the collaboration, and sends invitation e-mails to the addresses you specified. The invitations direct invitees who are eArray registered users to the eArray login page. It directs those who are not registered users to the eArray registration page.

When a registered invitee logs in to eArray, the invitation appears in the Invitations to Me pane of the collaboration main page, where they can accept the invitation and participate in the collaboration.

A message tells you that your collaboration has been created successfully, and that the libraries have been updated.

      3. Click Close.
