The status of a microarray
design or set reflects its progress through the microarray creation process.
Status designations follow a defined order:
Draft
>>> Review (optional)
>>> Locking (collaborations
only) >>> Complete >>>
Submitted
In some cases, eArray assigns the status, and in others, the owner of
the microarray design/set chooses to advance the design/set to the next
status. This is a one-way process —
that is, once you advance to the next status, you cannot go back.
The actions you can take on a microarray design or a set depend on the
current status of the design/set, the privileges assigned to you by your
workgroup administrator, and if you are outside or inside a collaboration.
The following table summarizes the status changes that a microarray design
or set goes through in eArray. For a more complete list of available
actions by status, see Actions
you can take on microarray designs/sets.
Status |
Description |
Notes |
Draft
(not available inside a collaboration) |
You are at
the beginning of the design process.
eArray assigns this status to your design when you first create
it. |
Only the owner
can edit the
microarray design.
Owner can change the status
of the design to Review or Complete.
Only the owner can delete
the microarray design.
Microarray design cannot be submitted.
If other formats are available,
the owner can convert
the design format.
|
Review
|
This is an
optional status that the owner of the design can set. It allows
others to make changes to the design. See Review
microarray designs/sets. |
Users with
access privileges can review
the design, make changes, and save a new version of it.
A .tdt file
is dynamically generated every time a reviewer saves a new
version.
Only the owner can delete
the microarray design.
Anyone who has access privileges
can download
the microarray design (.tdt file).
Microarray design cannot be submitted.
If other formats are available,
the owner can convert
the design format.
|
Locking
(Available only in a collaboration) |
You, as a lead
in a collaboration, set this status when you want to lock the
design so that no more editing can take place. |
|
Complete
|
In your individual
user workspace, you, as the owner of the design, set this status
when you and any reviewers have finished editing the design.
In a collaboration,
eArray assigns this status when the last lead approves locking
of the design. |
AMADID number
is assigned to the design.
eArray generates
all design files.
Microarray
design cannot
be edited (not even by its owner).
Owner can submit
the microarray design from the microarray design Search
Results page.
Anyone who has access privileges
can download
the design files and the tab-delimited text (*.tdt) file.
Microarray design can be deleted by its
owner.
Owner can change the control
type of probe groups in a microarray design. (Not available
for SureSelect Capture Array or microRNA application types.)
|
Submitted |
eArray sets
this status after you submit
the design to Agilent Manufacturing. |
Only the owner
can submit the microarray design.
In a collaboration, all leads
must approve the submission.
Owner can only submit designs
with a status of Complete.
Once submitted, eArray sends
the writer design file to Agilent Manufacturing, but does
not place an order for the array.
A microarray design cannot be edited or deleted after
it is submitted.
Owner can change the control
type of probe groups in a microarray design. (Not available
for SureSelect Capture Array or microRNA application types.)
Anyone with access to the microarray
design can request
a quote for it.
If you have previously purchased
products from Agilent, you can or buy
the microarray from the Agilent Online Store through eArray.
Subscription
to microarray update notification is available.
